I am so pleased to be a practicum student with the team at Riverbend Counselling. I am a qualifying therapist and licensed to practice under supervision. I have spent several years as a social worker supporting children and families. As a result, I have developed a deep respect for the resiliency that exists in each of us and has led my subsequent practice to be embedded within a strength-based perspective.
I strongly believe in a person-centered approach that validates you, as the expert of your life. Together, we can explore how an authentic life (life worth living) would manifest for you. We can collaborate on developing goals and a plan that works for you. I believe that we all have within us the ability to overcome all obstacles and sometimes, we just need someone to walk with us and be a support. I would be honored to be that support for you.
Some of the modalities that I am drawn to are Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems model, Narrative Therapy and Solutions Focused Brief Therapy. I also have additional training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
